In this webinar, Education Deputy Program Director Amy Haywood spoke with Jacquie Burrows and Halie McColl, the Principal and Learning Specialist from Churchill Primary. They discussed their school’s switch to a structured reading approach, where students are explicitly and systematically taught key reading skills.

The (prerecorded) July ASLA WS2024 focuses on primary, but a link to a secondary school example will also be provided to registrants.

ASLA encourages all school library staff to continue to advocate for the work they do with students and staff to build literacy and reading skills.
