ASLA School Library Advocate Award 2025

This national award is to recognise a dedicated individual who advocates for their school library and has made a positive contribution to their school community and beyond.

This award is open to any staff member, including library staff, teachers and principals. The nominee will need to be able to demonstrate their contribution to their school community, wider networks and engagement with professional learning.

An individual may nominate themselves; OR principals, professional colleagues and members of the school community are also encouraged to nominate their library staff members. 

PRIZES

The recipient of this Award will receive:

  • complimentary 12-month Personal Professional Membership to ASLA
  • a $1000 professional learning grant
  • a trophy and certificate

NOMINee requirements

  • ASLA Membership is not required
  • Must be a resident in Australia
  • Must be currently working in a school

    In addition to the other requirements, nominees for this award must also:

    • Include a Statement of Achievement (of up to 500 words) as outlined in the ToE document.

    Nominees will also be required to provide the following:

    • Scanned copies of any supporting evidence
    • Contact details for two referees are to be supplied (one being the school principal OR if a principal is nominated, a suitable replacement referee is acceptable), who will be contacted if the nominee advances to the final stages of the selection process

    The Awardee will be required to submit a report to the ASLA Board detailing the professional learning experiences facilitated by this award.

    The Awardee will provide certain consents to ASLA, as outlined in the Terms of Entry document
