ASLA 2021 Virtual Conference - KEYNOTE Ron Ritchhart (USA) Practices of Making Thinking Visible

The second keynote speaker on Day One was Dr Ron Ritchhart, a Senior Researcher at Project Zero, Harvard Graduate School of Education. Ron’s interest focuses on creating cultures of thinking to develop understanding. His publications demonstrate that teaching is both a complex art and science (2011, 2015, 2020). The keynote reviewed the goal and practices associated with making thinking visible, drawing from his own research (2011,2020). Since learning is a consequence of thinking, Ron posed two questions in his inquiry approach: What kinds of thinking are we, as teachers, trying to promote, and how do we make this invisible thinking process more visible?
