Description

Drawing from her course design work for the MBA course at the University of Southern Queensland, Kay Oddone outlined how various aspects of business research, leadership theory and practice relate to the role of the Teacher Librarian (TL). While TLs play an inherent leadership role in schools, Kay acknowledged that many can find it challenging and encouraged delegates to recognise the value leadership development and literature from the field of business can have for professional learning. Her presentation provided a good overview of what to consider when planning professional learning in this area, emphasising that leadership is a skillset that can be learned.
