Library Leaders Hub ~ ASLA Interactive Workshops 2026, 28th February

ASLA is excited to launch a series of new Interactive PL Workshops designed specifically for school library staff ready to grow their leadership influence within their school communities!

This workshop will explore Lily’s V.O.I.C.E.S. leadership framework, where participants will explore how effective school library leaders: 

✅ Value their professional identity and leadership impact 
✅ Orate as instructional and curriculum partners 
✅ Impact decision-making through evidence and advocacy 
✅ Change through innovation and service design 
✅ Engage through professional networks and collaboration 
✅ Strategise to build sustainable leadership pathways 

In subsequent workshops, guided activities, reflective tasks, and collaborative discussions aim to build practical strategies that participants can apply immediately in their own school context. 

Who should attend? This workshop is ideal for: 

• Library assistants and support staff aspiring to leadership 
• Early career teacher librarians 
• Experienced library staff wanting to strengthen strategic leadership capacity 
• Anyone looking to grow their influence and advocacy within their school 

Why does this matter? As highlighted in the Library Leaders Hub, sustainable and future-focused school libraries rely on staff who can confidently articulate their value, influence school priorities, and advocate for equitable access to information and reading culture.
