Description

This webinar meets the standards 2.5.2 3.4.2, 4.5.2, 6.3.2, 7.4.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher status. None of us have ever lived through times of change as radical as what we have experienced in the past few months. As educators our core business of learning and teaching has been altered at a pace we could have never imagined. Phrases like “social distancing” and “at home learning” have become part of our everyday parlance, and their implementation has had massive implications for all educators, including teacher librarians (TLs).  This Webinar will use the economic concepts of scarcity and abundance to explore how TLs can support their school community in these times of change, and beyond. Right now, teachers are faced with an overwhelming abundance of information, content and resources. What is scarce, is the knowledge and experience of how to use this abundance ethically, critically and effectively.  Participants in this webinar will be empowered by the strategies presented to imagine new ways of working with their school community. They will be encouraged to consider how to promote their unique knowledge and experience, and will have access to ideas and resources which will assist them to navigate the new educational landscape of and beyond.
