Workshop attendees will gain an understanding of the parameters of cultural integrity in library audits. They will explore definitions of ‘Cultural integrity’ that underpin audits in the A.C.T. Participants will be provided with an overview of a process to approach a cultural integrity audit of your collection. This work consolidates the importance of the TL role in schools and in the fine-tuning of school library collections, resource development and the embedding of cultural integrity across curriculum in each classroom. The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Section of the ACT Education Directorate is responsible for implementing Cultural Integrity in A.C.T. Public Schools. The Professional Practice team is led by Helen Uren-Randall, with Executive Teachers Rebekah Lane and Sally Richardson, designing, devising and delivering workshops across the A.C.T. Helen, Rebekah and Sally are highly experienced school leaders, who address and implement professional practice models for teachers in A.C.T. public schools from Preschool to Year 12. AITSL Teaching Standards: 2.4, 7.4 PLEASE NOTE: This counts as Teacher Identified professional learning with NESA and TQI and is NOT accredited. Target audience: All school library staff.
