How is generative AI impacting children’s book creators – and what can we learn from their experiences?

Generative AI is rapidly changing the creative landscape, but what does this mean for the people who create the books our children read?

  • The publisher perspective: Lara explores the experiences and concerns of small publishers, including the challenges and opportunities AI presents for the children’s publishing industry.
  • Data, copyright & IP: Taryn unpacks data security, intellectual property theft and why even seemingly harmless uses of AI for “ideas” can have significant implications for creators and publishers.
  • The creator perspective: Kate shares how authors and illustrators are adapting their creative practices, submissions and school visits, while considering the potential impacts—and benefits—of AI on reading, creativity and critical thinking.

Join us for an insightful conversation about AI, creativity, copyright and the future of children’s books, viewed through the eyes of those working at the heart of the industry.
