2024 AWARD WINNERS

In 2024 ASLA was delighted to announce and congratulate the recipients of the 2024 ASLA Awards, who were recognised for their exceptional contributions to the school library profession and their respective school communities during ASLA’s Annual General Meeting on May 4, 2024.

ASLA Early Career Teacher Librarian Award 2024:

Abby Abdallah

The ASLA Early Career Teacher Librarian Award recognises an Australian Teacher Librarian who, within their first five years in the role has made an outstanding contribution to their school community and potentially beyond. This year, we congratulate Abby Abdallah from New South Wales for the positive impact she is making in her school.

Abby, who is currently working as a Teacher Librarian at Chullora Public School in Greenacre, NSW, has demonstrated excellence in professional knowledge, practice, and engagement. Her innovative programs and commitment to diversity have had a profound impact on teaching and learning in her school.


ASLA Library Advocate Award 2024:

Danielle Harte

The ASLA Library Advocate Award is presented to a dedicated school library professional who advocates for their school library and has made a positive contribution to their school community, and potentially beyond. This year, we are proud to honour Danielle Harte from Queensland for her outstanding dedication and leadership in her school community.

Danielle, the school Library Assistant at Trinity Anglican School in Kewarra Beach, QLD, has transformed the school library into a vibrant hub of learning and literacy. Her vision, commitment, and innovative programs have made the library an integral part of the school community.

We encourage principals, colleagues, and members of the school community to nominate outstanding school library staff for these awards. You can also self-nominate for the ASLA awards.
