Advocacy Events and Activities
National Year of Reading 2010 -- Australian libraries and library associations have got together to turn 2012 into the National Year of Reading, linking together all the great things that are already happening around books, reading and literacy, and giving them an extra boost, with inspirational programs and events taking place across the country.
Library Lovers Day -- 14 February. This promotional campaign is a combined advocacy event organised by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) and the Public Libraries Association (PLA).
Information Awareness Month, Library and Information Week, National Simultaneous Storytime -- May. These events are promoted by the Australian Libary and Information Association (ALIA).
International School Library Month -- October. This celebration of school libraries worldwide is organised by the International Association of School Librarianship (IASL).
